Ouchies Bandages

More than just a bandage brand, Ouchies was designed to make a statement — down with boring beige!   Specifically, it goes above and beyond a simple bandage and provides a way for kids to show their style while hiding an ugly cut. Ouchies Bandages are useful, loved and bright but their brand was in desperate need of a refresh.

Challenge:

The First Step is the Hardest

Ouchies Bandages already had a small following due to its niche market and standout on shelves – not to mention their durability. With a dedicated following on the east coast, Ouchies knew it had fans across the country due to a steady rise in interstate orders though it’s online store. However, it had no luck trying to break into the large retailers and was looking for an exit.

New Look For An Old Boo Boo

Because Ouchies Bandages knew their product was loved by so many, there seemed no need to change the brand’s name. They needed a fresh new look and extensive brand collateral to break into a larger buyer market where they would compete with the status and swagger of other health and beauty brands.

Solution:

Unique Artwork & True Heart Messages

We supported brand with new assets including unique artwork and story telling. The artwork created for the Ouchies brand was designed by a team of five artists that produced illustrations specifically for each bandage line and was seen nowhere else in the world.

We then pressed on the heartstrings with an Ouchies for Others line:  the first program of its kind: A special line of bandages designed to help others.  An essential component to the Ouchies for Others program was our partnerships with outstanding organizations.

100% of the profits from this program benefit our partnered organizations.

“We knew LP & her team was the group for us as soon as we saw the concepts. She got us.”

Jennifer Saporta, Head of Marketing, Ouchies Bandages

Rebrand

We delivered: new logo design & brand lock-ups, a guideline,  a copy style guide, new product artwork and packaging, licensing contracts, campaign messaging and a boot-strap brand awareness strategy and schedule that the company would execute in house.
