  • NMMFA Annual Report

Go Go Design LP Platow, Creative Direction Britt Archuleta, Designer NMMFA Annual Report New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority // Albuquerque, New Mexico Annual Report Design, Brand Management Albuquerque // New Mexico NMMFA Annual Report Design and Production Management The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority is a self-supporting quasi-governmental entity that provides financing to make quality affordable housing and other related services available to low- and moderate-income New Mexicans. Using funding from housing bonds, tax credits and other federal and state agencies, MFA provides resources to build affordable rental communities, rehabilitate aging homes, supply down payment assistance and affordable mortgages, offer emergency shelter and administer rental assistance and subsidies. MFA partners with lenders, REALTORS, nonprofit organizations, local governments, tribal communities and developers throughout the state to make these programs and services available to all eligible New Mexicans. 2011-0905 Challenge: The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (NMMFA) tasked our design team with creating an annual report that not only showcased the organization's financial performance but also effectively communicated its mission, accomplishments, and impact on the communities it serves. The challenge was to design a report that would resonate with diverse stakeholders, from policymakers and investors to homeowners and community partners. Solution: To meet the challenge, our team embarked on an extensive research phase, gaining deep insights into NMMFA's key initiatives, achievements, and the communities it serves. Drawing inspiration from the NMMFA Brand, we developed a design concept that balanced stability, authenticity and style. The annual report's layout featured clean typography, modern graphics, and vibrant imagery showcasing the beauty of New Mexico. Each section was carefully structured to highlight NMMFA's core areas of focus, including affordable housing, community development, and economic impact. Infographics were used to illustrate key data points and financial performance, making complex information easily accessible and engaging for readers. To enhance transparency and accountability, we included personal testimonials from homeowners and community leaders, providing real-life examples of NMMFA's positive impact on individuals and neighborhoods across the state. Additionally, we incorporated interactive elements in the digital version of the report, allowing stakeholders to explore data and stories in more depth. Result: The feedback for NMMFA's annual report was positive from the stakeholders, who praised its clarity, professionalism, and compelling design. Investors and policymakers gained valuable insights into NMMFA's financial health and strategic direction, while homeowners and community partners felt empowered by the stories of impact shared in the report. The report played a key role in enhancing NMMFA's reputation as a trusted leader in affordable housing and community development. It strengthened relationships with stakeholders and helped attract new partnerships and investment opportunities. Most importantly, the report served as a powerful tool for advancing NMMFA's mission of creating affordable housing opportunities and fostering vibrant communities throughout New Mexico.

  • ERIC LINDSAY | LP Platow | Designer

ERIC LINDSAY REMARKABLE MAN. BRILLIANT INNOVATOR. BELOVED HEART. Eric Lindsay, 41, beloved husband, son, brother, brilliant engineer & colleague, died on January 16, 2021. He was born on February 16, 1979, in Jersey City, NJ, to Robert and Jean Lindsay (Sommers). He is survived by his wife Lynn Platow; mother Jean Sommers, and brother Shawn Lindsay. Eric Lindsay is remarkable. He will be remembered as the larger-than-life man he is. His strength, wit, and intelligence always at the forefront. He had a big heart for his family— for me. Oh, I love him, and he loved me. Not in spite of me, but because of me. The space missions were his life's work. Eric was 41 when he died on January 16, 2021, but in that short time, we had already lived a lifetime together. Some take decades to learn to be a good person, but Eric was efficient. He was never mean. He was honest. This was simply because he unapologetically himself and had nothing to prove. He was cocky and sarcastic. He was gruff. He would throw down when needed. He wasn't afraid to be wrong, but he was very rarely wrong. He had a knack for things and he knew it, and he loved it. Nothing got in Eric's way and nothing got him down. He stayed deliberate and stayed the course. He was scary and intimidating to some, but if you were worth a damn, he'd give you a chance. He didn't judge, but he could see. He had no time for BS. He had all the time for the things that were important. He had patience. Never a pushover or sweet, always solid. He was a force. The world heard his voice and his laugh - he'd clap so hard when he laughed at his own wit that your ears would ring! But he never did anything for himself. He lived for the project, and the life we had together. Eric was cultured. He read libraries of books. He was an incredible cook. We lived around the world. Eric never judged anyone that had a difference of opinion. He loved the intelligent discussion and his circle of friends runs the gamut from NASA to CBGB. He couldn't tolerate deliberate stupidity. He had no time for fugazi. He listened to music he liked, drove what he wanted, shaved sometimes. Titles and recognition were nice, but they didn't define him. Eric is positively in the heavens orbiting the earth. He touched every panel that he sent into space and anyone who knows him knows he surely left fingerprints. The shooting stars we see from earth are usually satellites. So the next time we see a shooting star and someone tells you it's so-and-so, we can confidently correct them and tell them that no, that's Eric Lindsay. I raise a glass to you my love, my heart. I love you, Baby. You're my Eric. / Lynn Platow A book of Eric Lindsay's legacy will be printed. Please forward all stories & photos to TheLegacyOfEricLindsay@gmail.com
